Yes, this was and is a very different Christmas. I left my hospital job b/c of the vaccine mandate after 44 years at the bedside. It was a fantastic 11 months of retirement till last month when my youngest sister was diagnosed with an inoperable and rare mediastinal tumor and my husband was diagnosed 6 weeks later with oral cancer. Your message really resonated with me. I hope you took lots of long walks on the beach, slept late and ate well during your time in Maine. I have enjoyed listening to you on America Out Loud and I think you have found a new calling. Merry Christmas to a kindred spirit, as Anne of Green Gables said often about her friends.

Thank you for sharing. I love this reminder as I have been in a long-lasting storm as well. God is good and closest at these times. Another reminder I like is “Fear is Liar”, a song by Zach Williams. When I’m afraid I try not to listen to it and instead listen to what my heart tells me is right. I will begin praying for you and all that you shared.

Merry Christmas Kimberly I can relate to your experience having been an ICU RN in the so called pandemic. Unbelievable time in our profession and discipline . Appreciate your public standing on a personal HIPPA choice for any medical procedures including shots or so called medication and to refuse according to benefits outweighed the risk right. Keep the faith baby you always have religious exemptions to use your great talents to finish your blessed RN purpose check out Liberty Counsel web for constitutional USA rights for any medical procedure. Thanks to you for being a brave nurse and for your autonomous stands truly it has been impacting the lives of others regardless of where you venture as an RN from today 🙏. Being a person of faith He will make a way where there is no way.

Kimberly, If part of your anxiety is financial you can look closely at the employment websites. Of course most want you vaccinated but there are some that are willing to allow weekly or twice weekly testing for religious exemptions. Maybe you can ask any of us to share the locations. We are all in this boat together. God bless!
