Why wait for May to March? The voice of the people are crying out now! The trucking industry has all eyes and ears on them. I say we join them against mandates. I don't know about all my other nursing colleges but I for one am so frustrated that In order to do my job I had to be vaccinated. It's not a vaccine question, but of one rules. Who are they to tell me what I have to inject in my body!? In order to do my job. The only way "to Crush Covid" is to quit letting the government mandate how to live OUR lives.

I couldn't agree more! This is why I am not participating, because this march doesn't even ADDRESS these issues?! I think all of those things are important, but at this moment in history, if we lose bodily autonomy, and we aren't standing for INFORMED consent, does any of the rest of it even matter? I talked about this issue and shared my unpopular opinion during my interview last night. https://www.facebook.com/NurseFreedomNetwork/videos/953809968612327

If you read about the organization behind this march, you would realize their priority is to raise awareness around (1) violence against healthcare workers and (2) safe staffing ratios... In that order. It was never about the money.

Even at that, they refuse to stand for autonomy and informed consent. Per the groups rules, you're not even allowed to mention it. I just don't agree that at this moment in time, in the current climate, that anything else should take precedence. Violence against healthcare workers and safe staffing ratios have long plagued our industry. Are they important issues and worthy to March for? ABSOLUTELY. I just feel that the timing is off. If we aren't even standing for bodily autonomy...if we lose that, then nothing else really matters. 😔 Just my opinion.

Let it burn to the ground huh? You’re the epitome of a nurse I would not want caring for me and my loved ones.

We chose this profession. Many of us in school loan debt for this job. So walk away? To do what? Like hell I would leave a profession I love and not care for God’s children.

Yeah, you have your opinion and I have mine, but your answer to the problem doesn’t fix anything.

The solution I spoke of is actually all about caring for God's children; by building an alternative system to this unsustainable and unfixable "sickcare" system we are ALL oppressed by - Nurses and patient's alike. I didn't say to walk away from the profession, I said to walk away from the current system that we have all become enslaved by.

You are entitled to your opinion, but if you believe that the answer is to continue as we have for decades, or if you believe that this current system serves anyone other than special interests and hospital CEO's, then by all means, feel free to continue on. I don't need you to tell me the kind of nurse I am - I know that I gave my all to my patients, each and every shift; I know that when push came to shove, I stood on my principles to protect my patients, to question what threatened to harm them, and to look for a way to build a better environment for all of us. I'm sure you are doing your level best to care for your patients under these atrocious conditions, and I applaud you for that. You may think of me as the enemy, but truly, I am your biggest cheerleader.

Keeping you in prayer and wishing you many blessings on whichever path you choose to take.

-Kimberly
